MD04 Draminski Mastitis Detector 4QMAST Model - 1 1 Enquire

Additional Information

The electrical resistance of milk decreases when sub-clinical mastitis is present.

Use the Draminski Mastitis Detector to measure the electrical resistance of milk from each quarter of a cow, and thus identify which has sub-clinical mastitis and requires treatment.

Method

  1. Squirt foremilk from the first teat directly into the Draminski measuring cup.
  2. Press the button at the rear of the detector to take a reading.
  3. Tip the sample away and draw milk from the next teat into the cup. Take the second reading.
  4. Repeat until all 4 teats have been sampled. The readings will then flash up on the screen.
  5. Interpreting the results: Where a quarter’s reading is much lower, by a difference of 50 units or more, this indicates sub-clinical mastitis is present. Any quarter with a reading below 250 units should also be monitored.
